I'm back in Orange County. I'm trying to get caught up from nearly a month of traveling. It's been hectic. I've been in four different time zones in the last four weeks. My body doesn't know what the hell I'm doing.
Last Friday morning I said good-bye to my son, RC, as I left him at his dorm. I cried. I know he'll be fine. It's just a mom thing. It's not easy to take care of a child for 18 years and then drop him off 3,000 miles away. I then drove Briefcase to the airport and saw him off to California. I drove down to Charlotte from there.
The entire reason I went to Charlotte was to meet up with a few of my readers who have become online friends. The nicest people in the world stop by here for a few minutes each day. Many of them take the time to leave comments or send me emails while they're at it. In the dinosaur days these people would have been called pen pals. I like to call them friends.
Each of these ladies traveled a minimum of two hours to our central meeting spot. Not only that ... they showed up bearing gifts. Such nice people!
[L to R: Angela (from NC), me, Renee (from NC), Linda (from South Carolina), Di (from Virginia)]
I'd like to inject here my theory that southern accents are contagious. If I were around these ladies for more than a few days I'd probably have a southern accent for life.
We met at a restaurant called Roosters. Obviously, I'd never been there before. It had been highly recommended. Maybe it's a great place to go for entrees, but their happy hour (appetizer) menu left a lot to be desired. Who would have thought a place called Rooster's would be putting on airs trying to be fancy?
Five very hungry women ... and this is what we got. I really was just hoping for a burger. Wouldn't you think they'd at least offer chicken sandwiches in a place called Roosters? We tried a couple other things too. For the most part? Bleh!
Despite the food, which left a lot to be desired, I think everyone had a good time. I know I did.
One of the greatest moments for me, was getting my hands on a couple of huge cocks.
Instead of huge should I say well endowed?
The meet-up gave me an opportunity to get to know all of these great women a little bit better. It gave them the opportunity to meet the "real" me and ask any questions they wanted to.
In response to one question, I tried to explain I just have the oddest luck.
"I don't really walk around like this," I said as I pulled the front of my top down to expose my bra and breasts.
At that very moment, Fernando, our waiter, came around the corner and found himself face to face with my exposed chest. The ladies erupted in laughter as I turned the deepest shade of red. Fernando became an instant friend.
(That's how it works. If I show you my breasts, accidentally or not, you have to be my friend!)
The next day (Saturday) a few of us spent the morning at the, very nice, South Park Mall. I went to my first Dillards and later had exactly one sip of Sweet Tea. I liked Dillards a lot more than I liked Sweet Tea ... which is really, really, sweet!
I flew home Saturday night. My youngest son, PR, surprised me and accompanied Briefcase up to LAX to pick me up. My daughter surprised me by being home from her college when I arrived back to our house. I think they were both worried about me being sad after the North Carolina drop off. It made me feel very loved.
I got home just in time. Briefcase's birthday was on Sunday. He might have had some highly acrobatic husbandly expectations for his birthday. There's never a moment to slow down and rest, is there?

If it makes you feel any better, I cry every time I say good bye to my parents.
It sounds like a great trip! Did you regale Fernando with an impromptu abba rendition? If the answer is no, can you just lie to me and say you did?

You're such a sweetie. I'll bet your son has a bit of a lump in his throat right now too.
Had the best time meeting you and sooo looking forward to getting together with all you bloggity type women again one day.
Did a trapeze rope safety check last night... guess what? They worked just fine!

Good gawd, what is on that plate??
I'm not in the least bit surprised you accidentally flashed the waiter.
I should be in L.A. sometime in late October. You can pick the restaurant. *grin*

Ok, I just have to say, I love the yellow top you're wearing, and the top Angela is wearing. Too cute!
That was so sweet of your family to surprise you. :) And yeah, lol, not surprised the hubby had some high bday expectations. Men will use anything as an exucse eh? :P

It was amazing to meet you and Angela, Renee & Di. Despite the food (or lack there of) we really did have a good time didn't we?

So glad you had a nice time with your bloggy friends. I feel for you on dropping your son off at college - 3,000 miles away. I couldn't handle that. Nope, not at all. You're a better woman/mom than me, that's for sure!

24, being the shallow, trivial person that I am, I come away from that lovely post thinking only one thing. Damn she's hot!

LOL at the husbandly expectations. Looks like you had a great time. Good company can make up for bad food any time!

Boy - those 2 cocks have nothing on The Muskrat and I ;-)
I am glad you had a great time! It's also great to hear how your family came together to make sure you were going to be ok.
Thanks for sharing! (i am so jealous of your waiter!)

Meeting blog friends is wonderful. I met Natalie of Blaugustine when I was in England. She is amazing, and I feel as if I will have her for a friend until one of us goes to the great blogasphere in the sky. There are some others who live nearer to me that I plan to meet soon as well.
I think is's about time I got you on my blogroll. Is that okay?

I can't think about my sons going away to college. I hope your cry helped somehow.
Neat that you met up with some readers/friends. Sounds like your daughter and younger son gave you warm and loving homecoming. Hope you had fun celebrating your husband.
PS: You're pretty. :-)

That plate of whatever looks really gross. You look very hot!
Concerning Southern accents, I have lived in Alabama my entire life and I don't have a Southern accent. I'm totally serious. There was some very hard work involved though.
