Time Suck

Baseball season has begun.  

My son is a high school freshman.  His team played six games over the last eight days.  This week they "only" have four games.  I'm already re-developing last season's bleacher butt and there's a long, long, season ahead of us.

I love baseball, don't get me wrong.  I've always loved watching all three of my kids participate in sports.  It's just a tremendous time suck.

Also?

Do you have any idea how ridiculous some of these competitive Orange County parents are with their kids and sports?  Sheesh!

Wish me a baseball season filled with patience, patience, and more patience.

Also?

The ability to keep my smart-ass mouth closed ... the most difficult task of all.

I'm with you... would NOT be able to keep my mouth shut over a stupid parent's actions. The stupidity of others in general makes me quite vocal.

How well I remember the long baseball games. Here it was usually freezing the first few weeks of the season!

Awesome picture! I am going to miss baseball this year, my son decided not to play - he wants to take a break. I hope he goes back to it. His coach last year was a jackass, and apparently this year was asked NOT to coach - so that's progress - but he made my son's year so miserable that he now needs a break. grrrrrrrrrrr

My husband threatened to tape my mouth shut when i was going to T Ball games...I can't imagine having to keep it shut during baseball games and the silly parents there.
