In-N-Out

I wish all of you had an In-N-Out restaurant near you.

I grew up with one in my neighborhood. 

On the way home from the Rose Parade, Briefcase and I were really hungry and decided to stop in for a burger.

Most of us Californians are pretty snobby about insisting In-N-Out makes the best restaurant burgers available.  The chain has been gradually spreading outside of California.

If you've never been to one, try to find an opportunity to pay a visit.

There are people who feel it's worth a trip to California just to eat there.

My brother is one of those people. He once hopped on his Harley and did the round trip from Seattle in something like a day and a half. That's how bad he wanted one! My SIL, who I adore, is a saint.

Not having lived in any of the 4 states where the In N Out restaurants are, I have never tried their food. Most fast foods don't agree with me anyway so I pretty much stay away from them. Arizona was inundated with Taco Bells on every corner..... maybe In N Out should move there and give them a run for their money?

Seeing as i live in a different country, i can not quite justify the expense and energy to visit an In N Out, but my Californian friend raves about them so much, that when i do visit next year, In N Out is on my itinerary.

After relocating to Arizona this past summer I was fortunate to stumble across an In N Out. There is one in East Mesa and may be a bit too close to my new house for convenience sake. An amazing burger. I've never had a burger that had a thick slice of onion, lettuce and tomato - unless I was at home! It is like eating real food, not fast food!

They just opened one three miles from my house. We used to only get it if we were visiting California or on a road trip somewhere, but now I am so happy. I love In N Out!!

I'm a California girl born and raised and I have to say, I am not a fan :/ I don't get what the fuss is about, honestly. BUT hey, we hey, we can agree... to disagree :)

Yup, count me as one of 'those' people. Haven't had an In and Out in a LONG time. Sigh.

If I hadn't moved to Texas this past June (2010) I would have to agree with you about In-N-Out, BUT, there is a small chain here called Mighty Fine Burgers. Frankly, they blow In-N-Out of the water. Fresh cut crinkle fries that are better, and so is the hamburger. Come to Austin and see for yourself!

My sister and her husband live in Houston, and we insisted they try In-N-Out when they visited. They like Carl's Junior better.

To tie in two themes of the week, though, the first In-N-Out burger that this midwestern-transplant ever had was at the end of the first Rose Parade I marched in. They fed us In-N-Out burgers, apples and Dr. Pepper. I'll never forget it. I'm not sure if it was all Rose Parade participants, or just the college marching bands who got the food.

When I became a vegetarian almost 17 years ago, the only meat I missed was In-N-Out. I'm glad to have discovered the secret menu, and now I order a grilled cheese with grilled onions, which is a cheeseburger without the meat.

I think that's what I had when I had a class in Santa Fe and someone in the class insisted we eat lunch there. It was okay, but the wait was really long and the burger wasn't really better than Steak n Shake.

That is one of the HUGE things we missabout CA. There isn't a In N Out without flying to Utah. It saddens us so much! Not only do they have the best burgers (and I am not a huge burger eater or red meat eater) but they also have the worlds best fries!
