I had plans for a creative give-away today.
I want to thank all of you for hanging in there with me during my fifteen days without a computer. (But who's counting, right?)
I'm still doing a give-away, but the creativity part of the deal has been put on hold.
Why?
• I didn't anticipate having to go up to L.A. for a very lengthy day yesterday. (They really need to develop a high speed train from The OC . . . because SHEESH the traffic!)
• I didn't anticipate having to take Briefcase to the hospital for some testing before dawn this morning. (He's fine - his doc just had an early morning opening for some routine testing.)
• I didn't anticipate having my bionic arm re-programmed incorrectly by Romeo's replacement this week. (Romeo has left me ... how could he? Even funnier, Dr. Painless asked me if I felt like a jilted lover. Ha!)
Incorrect re-programming means my bionic arm isn't working - so ouch!! Also, I suddenly have to re-arrange my week for a second trip for reprogramming. Currently I get an error message informing me I've been corrupted ... which would be hilariously funny if I wasn't in pain.
Also? It's much more fun having Romeo stimulate me vs. his female replacement.
• I didn't anticipate heading into a pain flare-up midday yesterday. Such perfect timing since my electrodes are down and can't offset the pain.
Can YOU be creative while on Percocet? Because I just see blurrrrrrrr...!
I will be doing some posts on potential gift ideas as the holidays approach. If possible, I'll tie in a few more give-aways in the process.
For today,
I'm going to keep it simple but useful.
I'm offering up TWO $50 Amazon gift cards.
You can order almost anything from Amazon ... books, music, food, home furnishings, cameras, photography equipment, etc.!! You can also re-gift them for the holidays if you'd like.
I don't do "complicated" give-aways so here are my very simple rules:
• Every comment you leave counts as an entry.
• You may enter as many times as you'd like.
• You're only eligible to win ONE of the two gift cards.
• I'll pick the winners using Random Integer software.
• Entries will be closed at 8 pm Pacific time today, Thursday.
• Winners will be announced on Friday.
(Spam comments will be deleted and disqualified.)
Any comment will do, but if you're having trouble coming up with ideas -
I'd love to hear what's on your wish list for the holidays this year.

I'm sorry your bionic arm is acting up! I kinda chuckled at the "you've been corrupted" message!!
What an awesome giveaway! I have quite an ongoing wishlist over at Amazon...mostly books! I'm thinking a kindle might be on my wishlist this year!! Then I can read multiple books and not have a huge pile to carry around!

thanks for the chance to win!

I hope your pain calms down soon.
My Christmas list is covered since I ordered a new camera yesterday. But I LOVE Amazon and can always find new things I want.

I'd put it towards a Kindle fire for my son for Christmas. Hope your flare up is brief. :(

I would love to get my daughter a new camera...she's starting to really get interested in photography lately.

I always keep a wishlist on Amazon as the year goes by, but the one thing I wish I could have for Xmas can't be found on any list. . . my mom. Lost her to cancer earlier this year and this will be the first Christmas without her. It'll just never be the same again.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I stumbled across your blog and love your pictures. I think I would want some baking supplies for Christmas. And some time to bake...

I would love a new lens for Nikon - I'm just getting reacquainted to more serious photography and would be a wonderful addition.
I hope that your Bionic arm gets sorted soon.
I really enjoy your work and love your little Twitter comments.

How could Romeo leave you? I hope your arm is better soon especially with Thanksgiving cooking coming up and I know you love to cook!
Posted by: Missy | November 10, 2011 at 08:39 AM
So, sorry your bionic arm isn't working! I look forward to your pictures and posts everyday. Seeing your posts and twitter messages have been carrying me through some tremendous difficult days. Thanks for pushing through the pain to reach out to all of us. I hope you can get some relief soon!

Your blog is one of the few that I check daily.

I want a new camera, but with all the hints I gave last year and one didn't appear, I reall doubt I will get one this year either unless I buy it myself. Which I just may have to resort to!
Hope you get feeling better soon, I am currently looking at scheduling to get my "bionic back & hip" put into place and I have only dared do it because you are so positive about it!
Posted by: Trina Perry | November 10, 2011 at 09:04 AM
Oh yea, I forgot, You have really got to make sure Romeo doesn't have a life past what you need--it really isn't fair for him to have ANYTHING to do when you need him!! =)
Posted by: Trina Perry | November 10, 2011 at 09:05 AM
Actually, If I won a 50.00 gift from amazon I would probably spend it on new music for my husband for christmas. The kid just got a new iPod for his birthday...

I could not get to yr site the last few days. I swear I was typing in the correct address but I kept getting a diagnose the problem page. Then today I finally thought to do a search and there you were. What the heck? Now, I get to catch up on my reading. Thanks for the entertainment.

I wish for one of the pictures you have for sale here. :)
I love the sunset one with a silhouette of a little girl.
Thanks for the give away.

When I was a kid my favorite televisions show was The Six Million Dollar Man. I always wanted a Bionic Arm.

What I really want for Christmas, more than anything else, is a week at the beach this winter. I found a lovely little condo in a hi-rise directly on the beach at South Padre Island that is $450 for a week in the off season... now just need to make the hubby think it was HIS idea. LOL!!
Posted by: Rachael | November 10, 2011 at 09:41 AM
My second choice would be a tablet, I'm waiting until enough of them have enough bugs worked out... don't fancy being a beta tester haha.
Posted by: Rachael | November 10, 2011 at 09:43 AM
3rd choice would be a nifty neato camera. I'm just a wanna-be but I do have a very good eye, just not enough spare time or discipline to devote myself to a second career. At this point my camera is so old.. well I just feel like a kid taking snaps when I use it. sigh.
Posted by: Rachael | November 10, 2011 at 09:46 AM
I hope the de-corrupting goes well. That just does not sound pleasant! Have a great day!!
Posted by: Rachael | November 10, 2011 at 09:47 AM
Wow! Things have really changed in the blog world that I use to visit often.
If I could really get the wish I wanted, it would be more time in my day. Life gets in the way of all the fun I want to be having.

I actually want to be a cheerful and generous gift giver this year, so, if I win one of these cards, I will spend it on a gift for someone else.

I'm really sorry to hear that your arm is giving you such trouble, and to hear that Romeo left you high and dry. Men!
There's not on my holiday wish list this year, much to the consternation of friends and family looking for gift ideas. I just have most everything I need.
The one thing I'd like, believe it or not, are Amazon gift cards to buy books for my Kindle! I'm trying to buy fewer physical books to not add to my clutter, but I love to read so much.
Posted by: Maura | November 10, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Sorry to hear about Romeo leaving you, that definitely sucks.
Posted by: Amy in StL | November 10, 2011 at 11:10 AM
I wish for you a less-pain-filled year.
Who knows?! Just MIGHT happen! And, maybe, a little corruption now and then might be beneficial!

I'm sorry Romeo isn't there to stimulate you anymore :-)

If I win I'd love to buy myself something. But I'll probably just end up buying more Legos for my boys lol.

Your posts/blog crack me up. And then sometimes they make me cry. BTW - can't decide if I want an iPad or Android tablet for Christmas. I'm conflicted!

The first item on my wishlist would be a camera. Mine was stolen a year ago and I've not been financially able to replace it.
Posted by: Karen in East Texas | November 10, 2011 at 12:45 PM
The only thing I can do while on Percocet is sleep. That stuff's worse than Nyquil on me.
I'm hoping to finally buy a prime lens for my camera this Christmas. That's probably it since I had to buy a whole freaking new computer. And a water heater. And a whole new HVAC system...'Tis the season!
Posted by: Christine | November 10, 2011 at 12:53 PM
An Amazon gift card would probably be used for another item on my wishlist which is books and/or ebooks. I've a long list of releases that I would love to have.

I freaking love Amazon!

I have books on my wish list. Not for me but for my Grandchildren. Although I might get one for myself. :) I hope you get re-progammed soon!
Posted by: Stephanie Z | November 10, 2011 at 02:01 PM
Knowing me I would probably spend it on someone else's Christmas present instead of on myself.
Posted by: Karen in East Texas | November 10, 2011 at 02:03 PM
A new camera would be swell too! I'm not anywhere near the photographer that you are, but I do sometimes get a good shot.
Posted by: Annette | November 10, 2011 at 02:59 PM
Incidentally, your photo of "a beach fort" is on my wish list. I don't think I can get it from amazon. But never mind. I'll take what I can get!
Posted by: Katharina | November 10, 2011 at 02:59 PM
My wish list for this holiday is that my kids and hubby are ok with me going back to school. They are all willing to step up to the plate to help me out, it's the motherly guilt that I would like to go away.

Posted by: Annette | November 10, 2011 at 03:59 PM
My wish for Christmas is for a relaxing couple of days off of work to enjoy with my kids. And lets throw in a happy new year too! This one has been a bugger!
Posted by: Annette | November 10, 2011 at 04:04 PM
$50...could use it for my sons presents--1 wants legos, 1 wants an iPod touch and 1 wants another new camera. Or a lens. I've lost track. Could use it for my remote-controlled airplane hobbiest hubby. Or, I could get something for myself without feeling quite as guilty!!
By the way, I love, love your photographs! And where you live. Where I live it's gray or dreary more often than not, so I really appreciate colorful pictures!!

My wish for Christmas is that we have a nice relaxing after Christmas trip to spend time with my kids!
Hope your arm feels better soon!

This comment is not looking for a gift card. I just dropped in to say that I have been missing you because of my own miseries, and have not been reading my web friends' blogs. My life is getting back to normal, so here I am once more, so sorry your arm has become unprogrammed, but hopefully it can be fixed. Hugs.

I came here off your g+ post, and now that I've read this blog post, I know I've got to read more. There are so many blanks I need to fill in. What's the story with the arm? Who is Romeo? Who is Briefcase? Now I'm off to rummage through your previous posts...

I'm not sure what I want for Christmas, but I'd really like to get my son an iPod. His is only 2GB, and he needs for more room for all his tunes.
